始まりは、あまりにも個人的な、でも私の人生を根底から揺さぶる出来事でした。私の妻はフィリピンにルーツを持つ女性です。彼女は心からゴールドとジュエリーを愛していました。

It began with something deeply personal—something that changed the way I saw my own life. My wife has roots in the Philippines, and she has always loved gold and jewelry.

ある時、彼女は静かに、それでも強い意志を込めて言ったのです。

One day, she spoke quietly, but with unmistakable conviction:

「もし何かが起きたとき、最後に自分を助けてくれるのは、このゴールドや宝石たちなの」

“If something happens, these pieces of gold and jewelry may be what I can turn to in the end.”

その言葉の重みは、日本で平穏に生きてきた私の想像をはるかに上回るものでした。 それは自分を飾るための虚栄でも、誰かに見せるための贅沢でもありません。

Her words carried a weight I had never fully understood in my peaceful life in Japan. This was not about vanity or showing off. It was about something far more personal.
